A POEM,
Occasioned by his Majesty's most gracious benevolence to his
British colonies in America, lately invaded by the French.
The muse that us'd in silvan strains to sing,
To sport in fields, and chaunt the blooming spring,
Or erst (a more ungrateful task) to storm,
At party wiles, and factions hideous form;
